Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Police report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then located many other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say early analysis show the liquid was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet aware of any harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the case" and have appealed to the residents for information.
A senior representative commented the vandalism made him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
